A simple step by step guide to using your NIBOVI Instrument Disinfectant Powder with an ultrasonic machine.
Before you start
Check that tools are free from gross soiling (large, visible clumps or heavy residue). If present, rinse and scrub before immersing. A light covering of dust or debris is fine and doesn't need rinsing first.
How to use
- Lift the top section from Maris & remove the foam insert (first use)
- Fill to max fill line (980ml), with warm water 30°C - 40°C
- Run a 90-second degas cycle (first use of the day only or new solution)
- Add a 20g level scoop of the powder and mix for 1 minute
- Place tools into the basket (don't overlap) and lower into the solution
- Start a 90-second cycle
- After the cycle, remove tools and rinse thoroughly
- Dry tools and remove all moisture
Cycle Guidance
Throughout the day cleaning (up to 8 hours): the 90-second cycle is more than sufficient, it keeps your solution stable and maintains a high level of active biocide. For spores, leave tools submerged for the full 30 minutes' contact time; otherwise remove after 90 seconds to rinse and dry. To preserve performance, run no more than two cycles in any one-hour period.
End of day cleaning: any cycle length is fine for cleaning and disinfecting, though the 90-second cycle remains optimal.
High volume use
In a busy salon where multiple staff share the same solution, mix a fresh batch after 4 hours if it's used more than twice an hour. This keeps efficacy high so it continues to kill all pathogens.
Important
- Do not leave submerged for longer than 30 minutes or you risk damage to your tools
- Do not overlap tools
- Do not leave to air dry
- Rinse and dry thoroughly
- For reusable professional tools only
